The Medal "Salida de Gerona" was authorized circa 1809 to reward the military personnel, volunteers, and citizens who defended the city of Gerona from a French siege in 1809.

The Medal features a rhomboidal shape.

The Medal features an obverse inscription that could be translated to "Courage and Audacity, Gratitude of the Fatherland," and a reverse inscription that could be translated to "Evacuation of Gerona October 14, 1808."
