Physical Description


A circular medal constructed of silver, the obverse bears the image of a a shipwreck with a man in the foreground being assisted by Jesus, encompassed by a border inscribed with REINA VICTORIA SOCIEDAD ESPANOLA DE SALVAMENTO DE NAUFRAGOS / DOMINE SALVA NOS PERIMUS, the reverse bears the inscription PREMIO A LA ABNEGACION Y AL HEROISMO within an open ended wreath of laurel, encompassed by a border inscribed with FUNDADA EN EL ANO DE MDCCCLXXX, with a suspension consisting of two anchors and foliage.
