History

The Commemorative Decoration for the 50th Anniversary of the Ostend-Dover Ferry was established by Royal Decree on February 27, 1896, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of ferry boat service between Ostend, Belgium and Dover, England. It was not awarded after 1898.

The I Class Cross was awarded to administrators and agents of the Administration of Marine Services for 25 years of service. The reverse inscription translates to "March 3, 1896."
