History

The Commemorative Medal for Aid and Food Supply was awarded to individuals in recognition of service and dedication to the National Committee for Aid and Food Supply during the First World War. It may also be known as the “Bean Medal,” so named for the amount of beans that were supplied during the war.

The reverse inscription translates to "In Memory of his/her Co-operation” and appears in French and Dutch. The reverse initials stand for "Comité National” (National Committee).
