This Order is the highest military decoration of the Independent State of Croatia. It was conferred upon military personnel in recognition of outstanding service and leadership resulting in success against the enemy.

This Order is also known as the Croatian Cross.

The II Class Cross was awarded 12 times. The II Class Cross (without oak leaves) was awarded 5 times.
