History

Established by the Air Force Soldiers Association, this medal is awarded to individuals who have been members of the Association for extended periods of time.

Initially when the medal was instituted, it was only awarded in one class, for 25 years, but the award was amended in 1987 and three more classes, for 40 years, for 50 years, and for 60 years, were added.
