This Medal was established by Queen Margrethe II to commemorate the arrival of her mother, Queen Ingrid, to Denmark in 1935.

It was awarded to members of the Royal Family and to members of the royal courts.

The Medal consists of an associated clasp on its ribbon that has Queen Ingrid's monogram on it. This clasp was manufactured by A. Michelsen, in Copenhagen.
