History

This medal may be awarded to recognize civil and military Armed Forces personnel (including nationals and foreigners) who have rendered outstanding and heroic services that have benefited the Danish Defence Force, and do not qualify for the Medal for Bravery.

When awarded for a second time it may be awarded with a silver oak leaf clasp, and if awarded for a third time may be awarded with a golden oak leaf clasp.

The rim of this medal consists of the year, and place of battle that the recipient is being recognized for.
