History


Established by King Christian IX, this Medal was conferred to recognize the men that had been in combat during the 1877-1878 Russian-Turkish war.

The Gold Medal was awarded on the same ribbon as the Order of Dannebrog, and the Silver Medal was awarded on red ribbon, with a white cross.

The Gold Medal was conferred upon Senior Non-Commissioned Officers.
