Miniature Silver Medal (stamped "HS")

Established by King Christian X, in commemoration of the day that Denmark was liberated from the German Military Power, on May 5, 1945, this medal was awarded to recognize Danish civilians and foreigners who rendered outstanding services to Denmark during the German Occupation of Denmark. Particularly, to individuals who provided assistance in actions, or with advice in the fight for freedom by taking care of the Danish, especially, when supplies were exhausted.
Both men and women were eligible to receive this medal. When awarded to a woman, the medal was awarded on a bow.
This medal may also be recognized as "The Pro Dania Medal", and "The Medal of Liberty".
