History


Established by King Christian X in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of King Christian X's entry into the Guards, this medal was awarded to recognize Guardsmen of the 1889 Class of First Company Royal Life Guards.

King Christian X, who at the time was a prince, was the first member of the Royal Family to complete basic military training without any exceptional treatment due to his Royal status.
