Established by King Frederick IX, this medal was awarded to recognize men and women who rendered services on the "Jutlandia" hospital ship during the 1951 to 1953 Korean expedition.

This medal may also be known as "The Commemorative Medal for Participation in the Hospital Ship Jutlandia's Expedition to Korea 1951-1953".
