Medal of Merit of the General Rural Department, in Gold
Estimated market value:
Established by King Christian VI, this medal was originally instituted to award the advancement of agriculture in Denmark. Although most medals were awarded associated to that reason, as the years went on this medal was also awarded for more general reasons associated with agriculture, such as, long service, merit, and promotions of trade and industry.
Not all recipients had permission to wear the award.
Although medals were issued unnamed, a few gold medals were issued named.
