The China Expedition Medal (1900-1901) was established on April 15, 1902.

It was awarded to the Officers, Soldiers, and Sailors who took part in the French Expedition in China from 1900-1901. It was also awarded to French citizens who defended legations in Pekin. More than 34500 Medals were awarded.

The obverse inscription translates to “French Republic,” and the reverse inscription translates to “1900 China 1901.” The Medal is worn with a silver, or silvered metal “1900 CHINE 1901” clasp.
