This Medal was awarded by Governor-Generals of French colonies to colonial customs officers for 15 years of service. The Medal could also be awarded in absence of 15 years of service for exceptional acts of courage and devotion performed during duty.

The obverse inscription translates to “French Republic,” and the reverse inscription translates to “Honour and Merit, French Customs.”
