Physical Description


A rectangular iron frame on a red ribbon bar. The obverse features the inscription ‘L. III.’ in white silk, framed by a cross of the army reserve on each side. The reverse features a horizontal pinback.

History


The Reserve Long Service Bar was founded by Grand Duke Ludwig III and was awarded to all Non-Commissioned Officers and Enlisted Men who participated in a minimum of one campaign, and fulfilled their compulsory service in the Army Reserve Forces.

The bar design of this decoration was replaced with a medal by Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig on July 30, 1913.
