Physical Description


A rectangular pebbled clasp with a raised smooth border with a decorative double line, constructed of silver gilt. The obverse features the inscription ‘F. W. I.’ (for Friedrich Wilhelm I). The reverse is smooth with the framed maker mark ‘KAUPERT’. On a ribbon bar, the ribbon in purple with narrow golden borders.

History


The Long Service Bar, I Class in Gold for 21 Years was instituted by Elector Friedrich Wilhelm and was conferred upon non-commissioned officers of the standing army who rendered 21 years of meritorious military service.

The award was conferred upon the rank of sergeant and below.
