Physical Description


A smooth circular medal with a dotted outline and raised border, constructed of silvered white metal. The obverse features the right-facing portrait of Friedrich Wilhelm III of Prussia with the circular inscription ‘FRIEDRICH WILHELM III KÖNIG VON PREUSSEN’. Below the neck is the date ‘1818’. The reverse features the right-facing portrait of Wilhelm II. To the left is the semi-circular inscription ‘COELN 25. & 26.’, and to the right the inscription ‘JANUAR 1893’. Around the centre is a dotted line and then the circular inscription ‘Z. JUBELFEIER D. 75 JÄHRIGEN BESTEHENS D. FÜSL. REGTS. FÜRST CARL ANTON VON HOHENZOLLERN (HOH) NO. 40 (followed by a small five-sided star) PROT.SR.KGL.HOH.FÜRST LEOPOLD VON HOHENZOLLERN (followed by a twig of laurel)‘ in two lines.

The Prince Carl Anton Fusilier Regiment Commemorative Medal was instituted by Prince Leopold of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the foundation of the Prince Carl Anton Fusilier Regiment.
