Physical Description


A cross pattée with a raised inner and flat outer border, constructed of silvered white metal. The cross is pebbled (except for the borders) and features the inscription ‘FÜRST WILHELM VON HOHENZOLLERN’ across the 9 o’clock and 3 o’clock arms, as well as ‘BAY. 22. I.R.’ on the 12 o’clock arm and ‘IN TREUE FEST!’ on the 6 o’clock arm. The reverse is smooth. On a loop for suspension, on a light blue ribbon with narrow white side stripes and white borders.

History


The World War Memorial Cross for the 22nd Royal Bavarian Infantry Regiment was instituted by Prince Wilhelm in around 1925 and was conferred upon the veterans of the Royal Bavarian 22nd Infantry Regiment.
