History


The Medal was instituted by Duke-Regent Johann Albrecht in commemoration of the Battle of Loigny-Poupry, and was conferred upon military personnel who had served in the battle.

The design of the medal was modeled off of the Military Merit Medal (Militärverdienstmedaille für 1813-1815).
