Constructed of gilded bronze, affixed to a magnetic metal backplate with a horizontal pinback and period original ribbon, unmarked, measuring 45 mm (w) x 30 mm (h), in very fine condition.
The Military Long Service Decoration was originally founded by King Friedrich Wilhelm III and was conferred upon non-commissioned officers and enlisted men for distinguished and loyal military service.
The recipient's service during wartime counted for double the service time.
The I Class Bar was awarded in recognition of 21 years of service.
