History

The Military Long Service Decoration was jointly instituted on August 31, 1913, in the duchies of Saxe-Altenburg, Saxe-Meiningen, and Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.

The Decoration was conferred upon Non-Commissioned Officers and enlisted men of the 8. Thüringisches Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 153 and the 6. Thüringisches Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 95 who rendered numerous years of distinguished service.

The decorations were no longer awarded after Saxe-Meiningen joined the North-German Confederation in 1867.
