History
The Military Long Service Decoration was jointly instituted on August 31, 1913 in the duchies of Saxe-Altenburg, Saxe-Meiningen, and Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.
The decoration was conferred upon non-commissioned officers and enlisted men of the 8th Thuringian Infantry Regiment No. 153 and the 6th Thuringian Infantry Regiment No. 95 who rendered numerous years of distinguished service.
The decorations were no longer awarded after Saxe-Meiningen joined the North-German Confederation in 1867.
