Physical Description


A smooth rectangular clasp with a raised, hatched edge, constructed of bronze gilt. The obverse features the monogram ‘G.F.C.II.’. The reverse features a horizontal pinback. On a ribbon bar, on a blue ribbon with white side stripes.

History


The Military Long Service Decoration was established on March 22, 1838 by Prince Günther Friedrich Carl II. The award was conferred upon military personnel who had rendered long and faithful service.

The I Class Bar for 15 Years was awarded to military personnel and police personnel. As of 1867, the decoration was only awarded to police personnel for long and faithful service.
