History


The Gau-Hessen-Badge was awarded in 1936 to participants of a meeting of the old leadership corps of the Gau Hessen NSDAP.

The Nazi Party administration was divided into a number of “Gaue” or Party Districts, each of which were under a Gauleiter or District Leader. Several Gaue issued commemorative badges, to reward service during the “Time of Struggle” or Kampfzeit, when Hitler and the Nazi Party struggled to gain power.
