History

The Edelweiss insignia was worn on the left side of the cap. It was authorized (but not mandatory) for all members from the “Hochland” (southern Bavaria) and Austria districts. In that, it served as a regional insignia.

The insignia is made of silver-coloured metal and has a gold-coloured stamen.

There are several different variants. Initially, it was in the form of a cloth patch. Next to the above described regular version, there has also been one observed without leaves, but with a swastika on the flower.
