History

Service Identification Badges were similar in design and wear to Trade Insignia. They denoted the wearer's former or current affiliation with another organisation.

The badges were in the shape of a black cloth diamond with silver-grey thread for Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) and Enlisted Men (EMs), and with aluminum wire for Officers. They were worn on the lower left sleeve.

The SA badge was worn by former members of that organisation being assigned to the SS. It features the SA rune symbol.
