The badge is silvered and features a downward pointing sword with a superimposed shield with a black cross. The cross is either blackened or made of black enamel. All this is framed by a vertically oval oak leaf wreath. The sword's pommel and blade tip touch the wreath.
The badge is generally hollow-stamped and features a pinback.
