History

The Weickhmann Badge was instituted by Major von Weickhmann on May 21, 1920, the first anniversary of the establishment of his Freikorps. It could be awarded to any faithful member. Those who performed their duties with exceptional merit and bravery could be awarded swords to the badge.

The badge is a solid silvered shield with a pebbeled surface. On it is a cross in black enamel. The 6 o'clock arm is elongated. The badge with swords features those at the top of the shield. The crossed swords are gilded.
