The Freikorps Epp Medal was instituted at an unknown date between June 1919 and December 1920. The last known awarding happened in 1921. The medal was awarded at sports functions.

Designer, manufacturer, number of manufactured and number or awarded medals, as well as eligibility requirements are all unknown.

The medal was made of bronze. The obverse features the bust of Oberst Ritter von Epp in profile, wearing a steel helmet, facing to the viewer's right. On the left side are the letters "EPP".
The reverse features a sitting lion facing to the viewer's left with "19" to its left and "19" to its right.

This award is a so-called table medal that is non-wearable.
