History

The German Field Honour Badge was founded by a Hamburg Veterans' Association and was issued to veterans who served in the First World War.

Like other badges instituted in the Weimar Republic, the German Field Honour Badge was unofficial and veterans were required to purchase their own.

Individuals applied to receive the badge by filing an application, which detailed their combat experience in the war.

The badge was available for purchase until mid 1934, and approximately 16,000 badges were issued.

The badges come in a wide range of sizes and compositions due to the fact that they were privately manufactured.
