History

This Medal was awarded in recognition of long and faithful service within public security services that supported peace within the country, such as the Hungarian Police Force.

It was discontinued on August 1, 1949.

The ribbon was decorated with an "S" when the recipient was wounded in the line of duty.

The Bronze Medal was conferred after 5 years of service.

There were approximately 7225 Bronze Medals awarded during the Republic of Hungary, and only 1 Bronze Medal with a wound decoration on the ribbon.
