History

This Medal was awarded in recognition of long and faithful service within public security services that supported peace within the country, such as the Hungarian Police Force.

It was discontinued on August 1, 1949.

The ribbon was decorated with an "S" when the recipient was wounded in the line of duty.

The Silver Medal was conferred after 15 years of service.

There were approximately 16 Silver Medals awarded during the Republic of Hungary, and only 1 Silver Medal with a wound decoration on the ribbon.
