History

The Commemorative Medal for the Arrival of the Ambonese was awarded to Moluccan soldiers in commemoration of their arrival to the Netherlands, following the decommissioning of the Royal Dutch East Indies Army and the declaration of Indonesian independence. It is also known as the Rietkerk Medal, because of its association to the Rietkerk benefit. It is permitted for wear on military uniforms.

The Silver Medal features an obverse inscription in Moluccan and Dutch and the reverse features a Dutch inscription that translates to "Thank You."
