History


The Inauguration Medal (1948) was established by Royal Decree in commemoration of the coronation of Queen Juliana in 1948. It was awarded to those involved in or present at the ceremony, including employees of the Royal House, guests, and military escorts.

The Silver Medal features a reverse inscription that translates to "Juliana, Queen of the Netherlands, Ascension of 6 September 6, 1948." A total of 3240 were awarded.
