History


The New Guinea Commemorative Cross was established by Royal Decree in 1962. It was awarded to Dutch soldiers for at least 3 months of service in Dutch New Guinea between December 28, 1949, and November 23, 1962.

The Bronze Cross features an obverse inscription that translates to "Netherlands, New Guinea." It may be awarded with a "1962" clasp.
