History

The Royal Honourary Medal is awarded to Dutch organisations, associations, institutions and foundations in recognition of their 50th anniversary. The recognised organisations must be charitable, cultural, scientific, social, or of a sporting nature, and never political, religious, or commercial.

There are three versions of the Silver Medal that differ in engraving and inscription. The first version was awarded during the reign of Queen Juliana, the second was awarded during the reign of Queen Beatrix, and the third has been awarded during the reign of King Willem-Alexander.
