In addition to the Cross of the Royal Dutch Officers' Reserve Association, the KVNRO also has a Merit Cross which is identical to the III and II Class Crosses of this award. It is uncertain why exactly it is awarded, more research is necessary to determine if it is permitted for wear on military uniforms.

History

The Cross of the Royal Dutch Officers' Reserve Association was established by the Royal Dutch Association for Reserve Officers in 1936. It is permitted for wear on military uniforms.

It is awarded for the completion of the annual Two-Day Military Endurance Ride, which is a two-day competition open to military personnel from all four branches of the Dutch Armed Forces that involves running, biking, and kayaking, as well as shooting and orientation tasks.

The I Class Cross is awarded for 25 or more completed races. The enamel is red.
