The Inauguration Medal (1898) was established in commemoration of the coronation of Queen Wilhelmina in 1898. It was awarded to employees of the Royal House and other servants.

The Bronze Medal features a reverse inscription that translates to "Wilhelmina, Queen of the Netherlands, Emma, Queen Widow Regent, November 1890-31 August 1898, In Remembrance." Approximately 400 were awarded.
