History

The Amsterdam Medal was awarded to members of the Amsterdam Volunteer Rifle Company for service in Amsterdam in 1815. It was issued non-wearable, but on June 11, 1833, it was officially permitted for wear on military uniforms.

The Silver Medal features an obverse inscription that translates to "Campaign 1815" and a reverse inscription that translates to "Homage of the Upper Committee at Amsterdam to [recipient's name]." Approximately 127 were awarded.
