The Dordrecht Volunteer Medal was established in May 1819 by the orders of King William I. It was awarded to the volunteers of Dordrecht who fought against French occupation in 1813.

The Silver Medal features an obverse inscription that translates to "For Our Town and Our Hearths."A total of 74 were awarded.
