All grades of the Medal follow a similar structure of an 18th century scale called “Berch’s Scale”, that may be seen in many other medals of Sweden, but do not follow the sizes of the scale exactly.

History

This Medal is conferred upon individuals who have rendered long service to the same employer or rendered long service to a family.

The obverse design of the medal consists of the portrait of the reining monarch, and in Swedish around his head, his name and title; because of this there is many variations of this medal.

The reverse design of the medal is very similar to the Royal Pro Patria Medal for Civic Merit (See Medals & Decorations SWE*** for more information) although the two medals vary in inscription that is encircled by a laurel wreath.

When conferred upon women, this Medal is worn on a bow ribbon.

The 1st Size Silver Medal is conferred upon individuals who have rendered at least 25 years of service.
