History

The Kimberley Medal was established by Mayor and Council of Kimberley in commemoration of the defence of Kimberley during the Anglo-Boer War between 1899 and 1900. The Silver Medal was intended to be awarded to local forces, however, the Medal was never issued because it was never authorized by the Crown. The Silver Medal is rare.
