The Vietnam Medal was established in July of 1968 to reward Australian and New Zealand forces for service of 1 day or more on land, or 28 days at sea, in Vietnam after May 28, 1964, until, 1973. The Silver Medal was awarded to both Armed Forces and relief societies.
