The Belfast Harbour Police Medal was instituted by the Belfast Habour Commission in 1946. The Silver Medal is awarded to members of the Belfast Harbour Police Service in recognition of outstanding meritorious service or for acts of gallantry. A bronze anchor worn on the ribbon is awarded with the Medal to denote a recognition of gallantry. Approximately 16 Medals have been awarded, with only 3 for gallantry.
