The King's African Rifles Long Service and Good Conduct Medal was established on March 1907. The Silver Medal was awarded to native Non-Commissioned Officers and other ranks of the King's African Rifles in recognition of 18 years of exemplary service.

There are multiple versions of the Medal which differ by the obverse effigy of the reigning monarch.
