History

The Malta Police Long Service and Good Conduct Medal was instituted by King George V in 1921. The Silver Medal was awarded to sergeants and constables of the Malta Police in recognition of 18 years of exemplary service. Officers were also eligible provided they had served for 18 years in the ranks. The Medal was superseded by the Colonial Police Long Service Medal in 1934, until which only 99 Medals were awarded.

There are 2 versions of the Medal which vary by the obverse effigy of King George V.
