History

The National Fire Brigades Union Medal is awarded to professional Fire Brigade Officers for long and efficient service. The Medal is awarded in 2 grades. The Silver Medal is awarded in recognition of 20 years of full-time service while the Bronze Medal is awarded for service less than 20 years.

The Medal is issued with a ribbon brooch inscribed with the length of service.

The Medal also features the recipient's name engraved on the reverse as well as the recipient's service details and date of the award engraved on the rim.
