History

The Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Commemorative Medal was established in 1996 and awarded to members of the Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Police (formerly the Hong Kong Police between 1944 and 1969) who served between 1944 and 1997. Recipients of the Silver Medal were required to privately purchase the award. Approximately 5 000 Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force members are eligible for the award.

The Medal is similar in design to the Royal Hong Kong Police Commemorative Medal but features the obverse inscription, "ROYAL HONG KONG AUXILIARY POLICE FORCE."
