The Indian Recruiting Badge (George VI) was instituted in 1940. The Medal was presented to civilian and military pensioners, parents of 3 or more children serving in the Armed Forces, and wives with a husband and 2 or more children serving in the Defence Force. Full-time members of the Indian Recruiting Organization were also eligible for the award.
