History

Most uniform items the members of the DJ (Deutsches Jungvolk, German Youngsters) wore were the same that were worn by Hitler Youth members. A few items, however, were specifically designed for members of the DJ.

The uniform of the German Youngsters was first regulated on November 10, 1934.

The Winter Shorts were worn between October 15 and April 14. They are black corduroy shorts with two front slash pockets and two concealed back pockets with a buttoned flap. A regulation from March 1, 1935 stated that they were to be made of velveteen. The colour was changed to dark blue on April 4, 1935.
